Maharashtra Shahir Movie Casting
On May 1, 2022, during a rally in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to celebrate Maharashtra Day, Raj Thackeray showed a video to promote a new movie. The video announced that Ankush Chaudhari will play the main character in the movie.
Later, on September 3, 2022, a poster was released to announce that Sana Shinde will play the role of Bhanumati Sable in the same movie.
Maharashtra Shahir Movie Filming
The filming of the movie started on October 5, 2022, which is also known as Vijayadashami, in Wai, a village belonging to Krishnarao Sable. Sana Shinde decided to shoot some scenes in the hills of Satara, including Pasarni Ghat.
Later, they moved to Mumbai and shot some more scenes around the city. For the third schedule, they went to Baku, Azerbaijan to recreate Russia in the 1980s (which was then known as the USSR). They had originally planned to shoot in Russia, but they had to change the location due to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The filming finally ended on February 27, 2023, after shooting the final scenes in Mumbai.
